When Life Gives You Lemons…

When life gives me lemons, I make Lemon-Blueberry Chiffon Cake.

It’s the summer now.  The weather’s getting warmer, the clothes are getting shorter, and the fruits are getting sweeter.  One of my favorite things to eat, in the world, are summer fruits.  Mangoes, lemons, pineapples, the list is endless.  The best thing is coming from a hot day, and engulfing a large bowl of fresh, cold fruit.

Lemons and blueberries are one of my favorite combinations on the entire planet.  The tart, sour taste of the lemon is brightened and complimented with the sweetness of the blueberry.  And, the yellow and blue color of both fruits is such a cheerful and happy combination.  I mean, how can you not be in a lively mood with blue and yellow?

Fresh Strawberry Layer Cake

Nothing makes me more excited about the Spring than vibrant fresh fruits, like strawberries and mangos.  I was inspired to bake this cake after my friend, Yasir, requested it from my innovation project, Krimi Sweets.  This cake is super easy and fast to assemble.  The cake base isn’t tricky itself, and the frosting isn’t temperamental either.

Individual Molten Lava Cakes

If there could be anything better than good ol’ chocolate cake, this has to be it.  A lava cake is a cross between a moist chocolate cake and a brownie.  It’s baked so that the outside bakes into chewy delight, while the inside is still melted and gooey, hence “lava.”  These lava cakes will sure to impress any guests, or more to the occasion, that special someone that happens to be having dinner with you this Valentine’s Day.

Double C, Cookie Cake!

This post isn’t really a recipe, but just an idea I wanted to share with you all.

Are you ever in the need of something to bring to a party, or potluck, but you don’t have time?  Does that something need to be quick and delicious, and something everyone will love?

The cookie cake is your answer, my friend.  It’s literally a giant cookie paired with some sweet frosting to satisfy those sugar addicts out there (you know who you are).  And it’s even quicker and more impressive looking than a regular batch of cookies.  All you need is a lined cake pan, some cookie dough, and some frosting and you’re ready to go! Penguin Suit Elegance

A baker bakes their own birthday cake.  End of story.

Last Saturday I celebrated my birthday with my cousin and aunt because, well, we’re a tri-birthday sort of family.  I mean, I share the same birthday with my aunt and my cousin’s birthday is only 3 days after ours.

I decided to get a little bit more elegant and mature with my style of cake decorating, instead of the usual pink and speckled cakes I usually do.  So after hours (literally) of searching up designs and ideas on Pintrest and many more, I was inspired to do a ganache dripped cake.
